The nominations for the 28th Screen Actors Guild Awards were announced this morning by Vanessa Hudgens and Rosario Dawson, and they come with some big surprises. The Power of the Dog, which won the Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture - Drama, didn't receive a nomination for the equivalent award at the SAGs -- Best Ensemble in a Motion Picture.
It was also somewhat of a surprise that Kristen Stewart, who has been getting nods for her portrayal of Princess Diana in the film Spencer, was left out, but in her place, Jennifer Hudson received a well-deserved nomination for her portrayal of Aretha Franklin in the biopic Respect. However, Jamie Dornan was ignored for his role in the critically acclaimed film Belfast, despite his Golden Globe nomination and rave reviews for his work in the film.
On the TV side, Ted Lasso (Apple TV+) and Succession (HBO) received five nominations each, while The Morning Show (Apple TV+) and Squid Game (Netflix) each received four.
