Born in Los Angeles, Lionel Boyce is a multi-talented writer, actor, and producer. He got his start in 2007 as a member of the alternative hip-hop group Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All. Under the alias L-Boy, Lionel made music with the likes of Frank Ocean, Syd Tha Kyd, Tyler, the Creator, and more.

In 2015 he partnered with other Odd Future member Tyler, the Creator to found Bald Fade Productions, a company that has deals with Sony Pictures Televsion for scripted, unscripted, and new media projects. He wrote and produced the animated Adult Swim series The Jellies, which he also stars in, and was also a executive producer and star of the Adult Swim sketch comedy series Loiter Squad.

He found himself again on camera when he was cast as Marcus on the Hulu series The Bear, as the pastry chef at The Original Beef of Chicagoland. Getting hired at the sandwich shop due to knowing the owner, Marcus is a passionate chef who resists Carmy’s moves to modernize the sandwich shop, but eventually decides he wants what's best for the business and grows as a chef himself. The show airs on Disney+ in Canada.

Lionel has also appeared on the Netflix sketch series I Think You Should Leave season 3 released in May of 2023 and reprised his starring role as Marcus on The Bear for the second season, which debuted on Hulu/Disney+ on June 22, 2023.
