The series will feature a mixture of never-before-seen personal archive footage from Beckham’s childhood and career beginnings, as well as exclusive interviews with Beckham himself, his family and friends, and key figures who have been part of his journey.

The project has been in the works since 2020 and will be produced by Beckham’s production company, Studio 99, in partnership with Ventureland. Aside from his legendary soccer career, the series will also focus on Beckham’s life as a retired player today.

Beckham signed with Manchester United in 1991 and stayed there until he started playing for Real Madrid in 2003. In a 2006 interview with ITV1, Beckham revealed that he struggled with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). Since retiring in 2013, Beckham has become the director of the non-league club, Salford City, and president of Inter Miami CF. Beckham has been married to former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham since 1999 and they have four children together.

Most recently, Beckham faced controversy for becoming the face of the 2022 Qatar World Cup. Beckham was allegedly offered a £150 million contract, which includes Beckham promoting tourism in the middle eastern country. He is facing backlash because of the country's long record of human rights violations and violence towards women. This contract will most likely be a topic discussed in the series.

Beckham took to Twitter to announce the series, saying, "I’m excited to confirm that I am partnering with @Netflix on a documentary series about my life and career." The show does not yet have a title or release date. ∼Senna Gill
