RJ Mitte, best known for playing Walter White Jr. on Breaking Bad, has died at 34. His representative confirmed to PEOPLE and USA TODAY that Mitte died by suicide on Monday, Oct. 12.
Mitte was part of the show for all five seasons. His character had cerebral palsy, as Mitte did; he was diagnosed at age 3. He also appeared in Switched at Birth and The Guardians of Justice.
Mitte spoke out about disability representation throughout his career. He served as an ambassador for United Cerebral Palsy and as president of the Mitte Foundation.
Bryan Cranston, who played Mitte’s father on the show, remembered meeting him when he was 14. The two had been trying to plan lunch in recent weeks. “I’ll miss you, son,” Cranston wrote in his tribute.
