Respect the Credits! Respect the Filmmakers! Re$pect your Cu$tomer$

January 10, 2019

This place is great (good food, good beer, good seats) but they turn the house lights on to full brightness as soon as the credits roll! I pay for the entire movie (including the stingers at the end, post-credits), not just part of it, and I want to be able to watch the entire thing without being blinded! Management told me it's done for the safety of people who want to leave early; does this mean that when my wife leaves mid-film for a popcorn and soda refill, it is UNSAFE for her to do so in their hazardous auditoriums? I think it's much more likely that their REAL policy is one of shoving us out the door as soon as possible after taking our money so they don't have to wait for cleaning and reset. This is pretty pathetic behaviour in a town that claims to love and support the arts. Regal Cinema just opened a competing food/beer/movie theater in Santa Fe Place - I'll be going there instead. Hopefully, they respect their audience/customers/filmmakers more than Violet Crown does.

Do not see a 3D movie at the Violet Crown Theater!

July 12, 2022

Worst experience I've ever had at a theater. Saw Thor: Love and Thunder in 3D. TERRIBLE picture quality. Screen was extremely dark and it was difficult to make out details (screen was quite small too, but sometimes that happens). Could hardly tell that it was in 3D due to poor picture quality. There was even a malfunctioning overhead light that was flickering on and off like a strobe-light for the first 20 minute's of the movie! I've never had an experience like this at a movie theater, nor have I ever written a review for one. This theater has a lot of potential so it's a real shame they would let something like this happen.

The theatre was extremely cold.

Why is the AC on in Winter? I froze throughout the whole movie.
