This was a feel good movie that really appealed to women, but was also enjoyed by the two men in our party. The scenery was amazing.

I loved the movie.

I LOVED the movie...the scenery, the music...all inspiring. A must see with a girlfriend. Julia Roberts is great in this flick.

User review rating: 4 August 13, 2010

I really enjoyed the film but if one had not read the book there were a number of questions unanswered. I think that although Julia Roberts is always good as an actress, a younger actress should have been chosen.

User review rating: 0 August 13, 2010

good story but sometimes unvbelieveable about how she meets new friends everwhere she goes

I like more excitement in a movie.

I loved this movie, I have seen it on screening with my mom, it was her early bday present. She liked it too. Movie was beautifully done, gorgeous men, food, places, actors and actresses..especially Julia R. I could not imagine any other actress on her spot, Julia as usually played her role fantastico!!!!! It is a great movie for everybody, it is awake call for all of us, who is not sure where they are, what they want, struggling with their past, future or even the future, forgetting how to enjoy life more and most of the time we dissapear in our fast pace world. Lets enjoy more with our lifes, meaning love each other, care, stop for a moment..take a deep breath and do something exciting or

I really enjoyed the movie, seeing the courage it takes to take a leap of faith, but everything happens for a reason, finding that reason is the real journey itself! Love Julia, love the story, can't wait to buy it! My husband would appreciate it as well!

I thoroughly enjoyed the movie however found it to be a bit slow at times. Julia Roberts was fantastic as was Javier Bardem.

Ever asked for a coke in a can, and gotten lukewarm water down fountain cola? This is what this movie felt to me. It had potential, but was too choppy and didn't go anywhere! Julia bad choice, it should have been Claire Danes as lead!

Julia Roberts, as usual, was awesome--a sincere, believable performance. The shooting/scenery was great also, in Italy, India, and Bali. The story lagged here and there, but overall, was a good show with relevant themes.

User review rating: 4 August 13, 2010

The story line was amazing, but I knew that from the book. I'm amazed at how Julia Roberts portrayed her. The emotion to me matched the emotion in the book perfectly. I know its your job to but it didn't feel like acting. It felt so real. I am very glad they made this into a movie, I cried twice. Its good to have a good cry.

It's a must see, it's great on how true this movie is to the book, I didn't want it to end and I truly felt like I was on this journey with Liz. I have certainly recommended this movie to all my friends.

User review rating: 4 August 12, 2010

Loved the movie. Julia Roberts was perfect: couldn't have imagined anyone else as Liz Gilbert. Javier Bardem not too shabby either! Cinematography, gorgeous: really makes me miss Italy and long to see Indonesia and India.

I found the soul searching of the lead character in the movie very eye opening. Her experiences in each of the 3 countries lead to her final goal of reaching her destiny. The cinematography and sites of the locales were amazing and it makes me want to go visit them now. Definitely one movie to watch!

User review rating: 5 August 12, 2010

Good movie with on location sceneries. Exceptional cast. The movie is a bit long but that is entertainment!

User review rating: 5 August 12, 2010

I loved the movie, Julia Roberts is one of the best actress' in Hollywood (helps that she's a classy lady too). I really enjoyed the story line, Julai aka Liz made me really think about my life and what I am missing and what I have. I would watch it again.

I loved the story, the message of the movie and the great cinematography!

User review rating: 4 August 12, 2010

I enjoyed the movie a lot only sometimes the scene changes were a little abrupt. The book does a better job of explaining things.

User review rating: 3 August 12, 2010

The movie is definately a chick flick! It makes you think about yourself, put yourself in her shoes. We all wish at one time or another that we could have the opportunities she had! I enjoyed the movie and will recommend it to my girlfriends.

User review rating: 4 August 12, 2010

I thought the movie was very good although, I have not read the novel yet! I am interested to find out what parts are different. This movie is inspiring and encourages me to travel to all the different and exciting places around the world. I also believe that the movie was a little on the long side.

"Eat Pray Love" has great acting, scenery, and emotions. It had both humour and drama, and will delight viewers who have or have not read the book.

User review rating: 4 August 12, 2010

Julia Roberts was fabulous in this movie. Good story - great scenery - my husband was one of the very few men in the theatre - he also enjoyed it.

User review rating: 4 August 12, 2010

Having read the book I sort of knew what I might see and hoped it would measure up; I wasn't disappointed. I particularly enjoyed her stay in India and thought that the cinematography was excellent. You felt like you were there, the essence of the place was not lost. Bravo!

User review rating: 5 August 12, 2010

very much enjoyed the whole movie, beautiful scenery, and lessons to be learned for young and old. It did seem as if she cried too soon into the movie though.

User review rating: 5 August 12, 2010

I liked this movie a lot. It was a refreshing change from the usual chick flick type of movie. It was great to see how Julia Roberts character evolved in this story line and how all the people she encounter attributed to this reformation. Thanks for the screening pass. It was well enjoyed.

I loved this movie! Julia Roberts made me feel like I was the person searching for meaning in my life. I could feel the sadness, the joy and the love as it happened. The story of Liz Gilbert is inspirational to say the least. Some parts were hugely, laugh-out-loud funny while others were thought-provoking and sad. Truly an exceptional performance by Julia Roberts and a special story from Liz Gilbert.

I couldn't go but my friend did and she said it was really enjoyable - definately a 4 star rating

User review rating: 5 August 12, 2010

Knock down loved it. Excellent "chick flick" combined with both tears and laughter, that even us guys could get into.

User review rating: 4 August 12, 2010

O love it but comparingto the book, the movie lacks of the meaning of the real search for your inner self. Nevertheless, Julia is terrific, and so thje rest of the cast. I was really happy to be there yesterday and experience that!

User review rating: 4 August 12, 2010

i really enjoyed this film. I felt like the acting was superb, the settings beautiful, and the journey touching. Even the gentleman beside me was tearing up. It was a nice change to all the big action summer blockbusters.

User review rating: 3 August 12, 2010

Although I did not read the book I still enjoyed the movie quite a bit. It was a good mix of humour and drama. I would recommend to friends in a heartbeat!

User review rating: 3 August 12, 2010

Having read the book, I was looking forward to seeing the movie. I think that Julia Roberts and Xavier Bardem did an excellent job as lead actors (as always). The supporting cast were also terrific. The scenery, especially in Bali, was exceptional. I think the film overall was well done. I think 3.0 is a good rating.

User review rating: 3 August 12, 2010

Julia Roberts is at her best in her portrayal of Elizabeth Gilbert--based on her memoirs. having read the book that I immensely enjoyed, seeing the movie adapatation on a giant screen was quite enjoyable. the countries--Italy--India and Indonesia was a marvel to see and wish I could do the same

User review rating: 4 August 12, 2010

Although the movie did not do the book any justice, Julia Roberts played an excellent main role and I thought she did a great job portraying Liz Gilbert. The scenes were gorgeous. The food looked mouth watering. Oh my gosh, it makes me want to travel!
