Amelia Eve Biography

Amelia Eve is a British actress from London, England, best known for playing gardener Jamie Taylor on the Netflix supernatural series The Haunting of Bly Manor. Although acting had long been her dream, Amelia initially took a more traditional path, studying English Literature at Royal Holloway before working as an office manager in London.

By her mid-twenties, Amelia realized that office life wasn't for her. After a promised promotion was delayed, she resigned and decided to seriously pursue acting. At the same time, she and her sister Hayley launched a South London dog-walking business called The Fairy Dogmothers, giving Amelia a way to support herself while attending acting classes and going to auditions.

Her breakthrough came when she auditioned for The Haunting of Bly Manor. Amelia connected immediately with her character Jamie, particularly the character's preference for plants over people. After submitting her audition, she waited two months before receiving a call from her agent telling her she had landed the role and needed to travel to Canada to begin filming.

Released in 2020, The Haunting of Bly Manor introduced Amelia to a much wider audience. She starred opposite Victoria Pedretti and even helped shape Jamie's story, developing a detailed backstory for the character that creator Mike Flanagan incorporated into the series.

Amelia went on to play Maru in the crime thriller series Leopard Skin and Kay Robertson in the 2023 biographical drama The Blind. In 2026, she joined the Insidious franchise as Gemma in Insidious: Out of the Further.

Despite her growing acting career, Eve has continued balancing Hollywood with her work at The Fairy Dogmothers. She has said the two careers keep her grounded, allowing her to pursue acting while still enjoying the simpler parts of everyday life.
