LOUIS C.K.

Date of Birth: 1968

Starting his career off as a stand-up comic, C.K. became a staff writer for Late Night with Conan O'Brian. Working on the show's first two years on air, C.K. focused on creating a number of comedy sketches to be performed. He then went on to write for Late Show with David Letterman, followed by a gig as head writer for The Dana Carvey Show. In the late '90s, C.K. latched onto The Chris Rock Show, acting as co-producer and writer. His three year experience on the show paid off with a CableAce award and an Emmy.

During his years as a late night writer, C.K. also had a passion for creating short films. His first short, Caesar's Salad, won awards at a number of festivals including the Chicago Film Festival. His most successful short to date is Ice Cream, which not only won the Grand Prize at the Aspen Short Film Festival, but has been sold in several foreign television markets.

In 1998, he directed his first feature, Tomorrow Night, which was viewed in film festivals around the world. His working relationship with Chris Rock led to C.K. writing the screenplay for Down to Earth, in which Rock starred. He continued to work with Rock into the new millennium with the completion of his second directorial feature, Pootie Tang.

C.K. would later go onto become a household name after his hit comedy series Louis. This would lead into more roles in films such as American Hustle (2013) and The Secret Life of Pets (2016).

C.K.'s latest project is the contraversial film I Love You, Daddy (2017), which he directed, wrote and starred in. But the film's release was scrapped after allegations of sexual misconduct by five women against the comedian surfaced in November 2017.
