Noah Schnapp was born in New York but holds dual American/Canadian citizenship due to his family's roots in Montreal, Canada. He began acting young, performing in school and community plays before enrolling in an acting program at Westchester's Star Kidz.

His first screen role was in Steven Spielberg's Bridge of Spies (2015), starring Tom Hanks. Noah voiced Charlie Brown in The Peanuts Move (2015) the same year. He's also appeared in Adam Sandler's comedy film Hubie Halloween (2020).

Since 2016 Noah has appeared in the recurring lead role of Will Byers on the hit Netflix series Stranger Things. For the role he's won the Screen Actors Guild Awards for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series, the Young Artist Awards for Best Performance in a Digital TV Series or Film – Young Actor, and the MTV Movie & TV Award for Best Frightened Performance.

In 2021 he launched To Be Honest, a sustainable snack brand specializing in a hazel cocoa spread.
