Poppy Liu Overview

Born in Xi'an, China, Poppy Liu moved to Minnesota with her family at the age of two while her father pursued a second PhD. When she was 14, the family returned to China. She later attended Colgate University, where she studied women’s studies and theater, graduating in 2013. Poppy, who is queer, went on to found the production company Collective Sex, which focuses on breaking down stigma surrounding sex and identity.
