Sarah Wynter was born in Newcastle, Australia, and attended boarding school in Sydney and arrived in New York City at age 17 to study drama.

There, she studied with Penny Templeton and appeared in various off-off Broadway productions.

Her first role in film was a small role in the TV movie, Back Home (1990) starr ing Hayley Mills. She played the character of Mrs. Hatherley.

It wouldn't be for another five years for Wynter to break into movies.

She most recently starred in the independent film Farewell, My Love, playing a Russian assassin, Wynter's other credits include a starring role in the independent feature Jerks, and Molly with Elizabeth Shue and Species 2.

Wynter also guest starred in the television pilot for Sex and the City and Night Man.
