In the premiere trailer for Wait Till Helen Comes, Molly (Sophie Nélisse) accompanies her mother Jean (Mario Bello) along a dirt road to an old, decrepit house in the country, a place she bought with her new husband Dave (Callum Keith Rennie). Molly is apprehensive of their new abode, but Jean promises they will renovate the house and Molly will even get her own room. She also asks that Molly be nice to David's young daughter Heather (Isabelle Nélisse), who is a shy and guarded child due to her mother's untimely death.

As Molly tries to befriend Heather, they start exploring the area around the converted church, where they discover a strange grave belonging to a young girl named Helen, who happens to have the same initials as Heather. As Heather begins claiming to see a "ghost girl" on the property, Molly worries about the troubled young girl and her dangerous relationship with Helen.
