It might work if you view this as a metaphor for douchebag cuck Smith running from his harpee wife and terrible kids.

Nothing here you haven't seen done much better elsewhere. The script is ridiculously illogical. The direction of fortunate hack Antoine Fuqua manages to be both pretentious and exploitive. Scenes of violence are here to excite, not to reveal meaning. Perpetual douchebag Will Smith is typically underwhelming here, and the fact that he would exploit this story for some sort of attempt at career redemption is rather distasteful but unsurprising. If only Smith had gone "method" for this role. That boy could use a good whipping.

Maybe this could've been good if they cast someone besides Will Smith, who is the human equivalent of AIDS. Smith is odious slime and so is his whole despicable talentless family.

Smith slaps his way to freedom.

They needed a more extended sequence at the beginning with the family to make me care about Peter beyond just hoping he's fine because he's a person. Great final action sequence though
