A retrospective look into the extraordinary rise, fall, and redemption of Tammy Faye Bakker (Jessica Chastain), a televangelist through the 1970s and ‘80s. Tammy Faye and her husband, Jim Bakker (Andrew Garfield), rose from humble beginnings to inspire and create the world’s premier religious television broadcasting network and theme park. They were widely revered for their messages of love, acceptance, and prosperity, and Tammy Faye known for her beauty, voice, and acceptance of people from all parts of life. However, inevitably, the Bakker’s bubble was burst when a host of scheming rivals, financial improprieties, and scandals undermined their carefully constructed empire.
