Two teenage boys, Naim and Ryan, share a secret romantic connection in a small, religious Australian town where desire becomes dangerous. After a forced "cleansing" ritual, they are cursed by a violent supernatural entity that takes the form of the person each of them desires most.
As the creature relentlessly hunts them, it blurs the line between love and terror, forcing the boys to confront fear, shame, and survival. With the help of Naim's mother (Mia Wasikowska), they struggle to escape a town shaped by repression, faith, and denial.
