Excellent movie, highly recommended

I saw Eat,Pray,Love the day it came out and it was beyond AMAZING! Julia Roberts has always played such incredible characters, and she brings to life a great woman that needs changes in her own life... I would recommend this movie to all women who are going through tough times in their lives - wether it be with their jobs, the love life, etc... it would be great for EVERY woman to see this!!! Then we could all LOVE ourselves again, just the way we are :)

Better than I thought it would be...I got hungry watching the Itlay section! Julias a great actress but a bit too much crying from her...other wise entertaining.

Read the book; avoid the movie. It was far too long, never fully grabbed one's attention and Julia Roberts played herself. No acting talent required there.

Y-A-W-N! Save your money! Slow, dull, long

User review rating: 5 September 03, 2010

Excellent movie, excellent acting, beautiful scenery! Julia Robert's character learns to live with passion and without guilt in Italy, learns that God lies within each of us in India, and learns that it is work the risk to love again in Bali. Pay attention, and you'll get the point of the movie.

Nice movie but missed a few good parts of the book and filled in more with others

User review rating: 3 September 02, 2010

Julia is always great to watch and the scenery was amazing, it was just a little to slow for me.

User review rating: 4 September 02, 2010

Something about it wouldn't let me give it 5 stars. Not sure what it was.

User review rating: 3 September 02, 2010

Really disappointed by this movie, but what do you expect from a movie based on a book? The books are always better.

User review rating: 3 September 02, 2010

Julie Roberts was amazing in the movie GOOD story..........just took a little too long to tell the story

User review rating: 0 September 02, 2010

Great story!! Julia is wonderful in this story; too bad the other characters are not as fulfulled.

User review rating: 4 September 01, 2010

Saw it twice enjoyed it just as much each time

I have never read the book before, however I thought the movie was absolutely amazing! Especially when Elizabeth (played by Julia Roberts) was staying in Italia. I was very hungry, mmm pasta!! After watching the movie, I decided to pick up the book "Committed" by Elizabeth Gilbert (the sequence of Eat Pray Love) and I must say, so far its absolutely great!! Julia Roberts, in my opinion, played an amazing actress, worked perfectly for this film!! Great movie.

I was really excited about this movie after seeing previews. Julia Roberts is always in the best movies, but this was a big disappointment. I started falling asleep during India. I didn't get the point of it and it was really slow.

loved the actor in the love section! Movie could have been more spicy.

good movie but too long.

I had read the book and my best interpretation of the book was if you want a change in your life you have to "make" changes to your life, "take some risks". I really wanted to see the movie and hubby decided he wanted to go with me. I was all right with the movie. Glad I had read the book or I don't think I would have gotten much out of it. Julia was okay for me as Elizabeth, a little to happy though. Asked hubby what he thought. He said, "The movie didn't mean anything to him, was kind of a pointless, just another chick flick, and without reading the book the movie was pretty over-rated".

Too slow and boring. Needed some excitement. I won't recommend to my friends.

very engaging

I just finished reading the book, I was in Italy on vacation when I was reading the "EAT" section so it was pretty surreal. I thought the movie was excellent and kept pretty true to the book. I was wondering how they were going to fit all the content in and think they did an admirable job. Julia Roberts was excellent in the part.

User review rating: 3 August 30, 2010

Enjoyed the movie, however never read the book and think that would have helped a lot.

User review rating: 1 August 30, 2010

While the movie posed a few thought provoking ideas, overall it was pretty empty and meaningless.

User review rating: 4 August 30, 2010

I like seeing the different cultures interpertation of the meaning of food. "Eat" Italy.."Love" France and Prey..Bali..and how it centers around life..friends..to make one feel wholesome.

A real take your gal friend kind of show. Must see

User review rating: 4 August 29, 2010

I found this movie very uplifting and revealing and paralleling the lives of many of us ladies. A real see it more than once show

User review rating: 4 August 29, 2010

Loved EAT, Pray was weak, Love I get... overall Julie does a good job with an okay story!.... That being said, it one of the better films in August.... & its NOT in 3-D!

User review rating: 2 August 29, 2010

A little tedious at times but generally ok. Definitely a chick flick. I can't imagine a guy sitting through this.

User review rating: 2 August 28, 2010

I've heard the book is good, i should have just bought the book instead of debating of walking out of the theaters. She literally Eats (In the first act), Prays (in the 2nd act) and finds Love (in the final act)...Clever.

User review rating: 4 August 28, 2010

I really enjoyed the movie for the travel to the different countries. It made me want to go to these places too!

User review rating: 4 August 28, 2010

Great escape movie. Good movie to take a girlfriend to.

User review rating: 3 August 28, 2010

It was okay, I thought it got a little boring

User review rating: 4 August 27, 2010

i thought this movie was ok

User review rating: 4 August 27, 2010

Loved the movie, great to sit back and just be entertained, no killing or violence, just good ole movie!

User review rating: 3 August 27, 2010

The movie could have been better if it is shortened a bit. Felt boring at times.

User review rating: 4 August 27, 2010

I felt like I had gone on a mini vacation. The cinematography was great.

User review rating: 2 August 27, 2010

Boring, lame, and predictable. I had trouble staying awake for this one.

User review rating: 5 August 27, 2010

Wonderful movie, refreshing. Nakes you really think abot slowing down in life.

User review rating: 2 August 27, 2010

Having read the book first, I did not find the movie did justice to Elizabeth's spiritual journey. I found it focused more on the eating and falling in love and not with discovering herself and God.

User review rating: 5 August 26, 2010

excellent movie !!! what an amazing journey !

User review rating: 4 August 26, 2010

Julia Roberts created a credible interpretation of Liz Gilbert...and of course Javier Bardem stole the show, other memorable performances were provided by the pizza, asparagus and other assorted Italian cuisine. Loved the close ups of the food.

User review rating: 4 August 26, 2010

While a bit too long for some parts, it was an excellent movie that many people can relate to in some way. Roberts was at her usual best and kept the story in tact from start to finish. db

User review rating: 4 August 26, 2010

Great "feel good" movie! Enough "life lessons" to keep you pondering; balanced by a splash of funny, romantic moments. Julia is at her best and may (just may) be nominated for an academy award.

User review rating: 4 August 26, 2010

Good Movie ,lots of good shooting locations!!

User review rating: 4 August 26, 2010

love julia roberts in any role but this role inspired me to go on my own quest for finding inner peace and going after what I really want in life.

User review rating: 3 August 26, 2010

Movie was just "ok"...felt a little choppy and the ending sent a disappointing message

User review rating: 4 August 26, 2010

It was a good movie, but not as good as the book

User review rating: 4 August 26, 2010

Loved the book, read it twice. Loved Julia and Xavier. Italy was a little boring but I did enjoy India and loved Bali.

User review rating: 0 August 26, 2010
